Trust not in your own understanding

One of the lessons God is teaching me at the moment is this one…

5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.[a] 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the LORD and shun evil.

(Proverbs 3.5-6)

This is a tough lesson to learn. While we all pay lip service to trusting God, for many of us, if you scratch deep enough, we trust our own opinion.

God’s opinion can be assumed, based on how we feel about a situation, how we choose to interpret scripture. But when you need God to provide in a supernatural way, there is a real need to trust Him. You can’t assume, you have to wait.

This is where I am at the moment.

At Church , Inglewood Church, we need to move. Perhaps not for reasons that seem obvious. Its not because we want things set up nice and easy for us, not so we are comfortable. In fact its the opposite. We need to move because we have passed the point of having enough room for growth and are rapidly heading towards stagnation.

And having come to the end of my ability and resources to make this happen, I wait on God, as does our Church. So I am taking this promise, claiming it. In all your ways ‘acknowledge Him’ and ‘He will make your paths straight’.

Lord….I acknowledge you in this, please direct us, and make the way forward clear.
