Isaiah 40.3

Listen, its the voice of someone shouting….

Clear the way through the wilderness for the Lord

Make a straight highway through the wasteland….

For our God!

The voice of John the Baptist, the voice of the prophet…Make way in your heart for God. Clear the wasteland, remove the shrubbery…the things that clutter your mind and your heart. Mark a way for God to come. Mark it with lights….make it clear…make the path easy for the King of Kings to come marching in.

Make it obvious you want Him to come…to flood your heart…for the River to flow into those dry parts, those parts you have hidden from the Spirit..those parts which are dry, red raw….neglected…that you know God needs to come and bring healing too…but from which you have hidden from Him.

Make a way for God to come…not that he could not…but that He wants you to make the path for Him to come through.

Looking forward

At Inglewood Community Church we have established a working team of people looking at possibilities as we desire to build/aquire/modify facilities to have a Performing Arts Centre.
The Land our church owns is almost ready to sell, something I am quite involved in, and the next step for our Church needs to be discovered.

What I am praying for now is that God would honour His name. It is not about our kingdom, it is about His.
Our strong desire is that His name would be lifted high, that many people would come to know joy and life through discovering Jesus. Part of this process is the light of Jesus being shone. We are not meant to hide His light under a bushel. We want to serve our community through the arts, and development of young talent.

I would love you to pray with me, to pray with us, as the team look at our options. Pray God will show us what to do next. Its for Him.

Beware the wounded Docker…

Had another of my articles at The Roar published….
“Perhaps the calvary is still recovering but fans are hoping it may arrive just in time for Fremantle to make a serious dent on this year’s finals. After an injury plagued pre-season, it was expected that the side from the port would have a solid second half to the 2011 season leading into the finals………”

Steve Harris is ripping the soul out of Fremantle, one piece at a time

Rick Hart loved the Fremantle Dockers. I met him once or twice. Even after a defeat to the Swans in Sydney he had time for a chat with a disappointed fan.

Steve Harris is something altogether different. He did not come from a sporting background at all. In fact before supporting Fremantle he barracked for the West Coast Eagles.

He has taken away the logo which the club has had since its inception, when I started supporting the Dockers.
He has taken away the four colours, our Port Heritage and uniqueness.
He is going to take away the song.
And now….he is going to move the club from its spiritual base in Fremantle.

He was not there in the hard years when 20, 000 or less fans turned up for one home win in the season.
He was not there in the pouring rain at the WACA where about 10, 000 of us witnessed Fremantle beating Port Adelaide. In fact he has not been there for any of the significant events that have shaped our history. He was certainly not there when about 10,000 fans marched from Fremantle to Subiaco oval to watch us be defeated, yet make the point that the heart of the Dockers is to be found in Fremantle.

And in fact….I wish he was not there now.
